Before I became a makeup-artist, I worked behind the Lancome counter at Macy’s. Not as a Lancome artist, but as the girl who rang up purchases while the sales associates moved onto their next customer. I wanted to be an artist so badly but never got the opportunity.

RENERGIE LIFT MULTI-ACTION MOISTURIZER
The Renergie Lift Multi-Action Day Cream comes in a beautiful purple jar that looks great on your vanity.
The cream is said to use “Multi-Tension Technology” in order to lift, firm, and tighten skin. It also claims to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while improving skin texture and firmness.
The Renergie Lift Cream is also formulated with SPF 15 to add an extra base of protection from the sun’s rays.
UPDATE
After several months of use, I have fully finished the Renergie Lift Multi-Action Day Cream.
I really enjoyed this moisturizer; the purple jar looked great on my vanity and I never got sick of the scent. With that said, I am not sensitive to smells at all but if you are, this might not be the moisturizer for you. The scent is pretty strong when first applied and it takes a few minutes to diminish.
I love that the Renergie Lift Day Cream.contains SPF. It also preps your skin beautifully for makeup. The moisturizer melts into your skin, leaving your face feeling super soft and supple.
The day cream wears well under makeup and acts as a great base for foundation. I did find that I needed to give it a few minutes to sink in before applying foundation, or it was a little too slippery. Make sure to set your final look with powder so that it doesn’t move around.
If you have very oily skin, I would not recommend it as it can be a little heavy. However, it’s perfect for combination or dry skin.
I never noticed any long term benefits such as a reduction in fine lines or added firmness but overall, I think it is a solid daytime moisturizer for personal use.
For professional use, I would choose something else because of the strong scent. Also the jar is a little heavy to add to my already heavy makeup kit, and jars in general are usually not the best for sanitary reasons.

ADVANCED GENIFIQUE
I was equal parts excited and sad to receive a bottle of Lancome’s best selling serum, Advanced Genifique.
When I worked behind the counter, people raved about this line and I’ve been actively avoiding it because of the price. I hate falling in love with products I can’t afford to keep in stock haha.
Advanced Genifique is an anti-aging serum with over 14 years of research and 197 formulation trials to back it up. Lancome recommends using it as the first step in your skincare routine to improve radiance, elasticity, firmness, skin tone, and smoothness.
UPDATE
A little goes a long with with this serum, so it already has lasted me much longer than the Renergie Lift Multi-Action Day Cream.
When you first apply Advanced Genifique to clean skin, it feels so silky and expensive. The product also absorbs fast, allowing you to move through your nighttime skincare routine quickly.
I notice a definite improvement in the overall appearance of my skin when I use this serum. My skin looks brighter and more clear in the morning and it has also smoothed out the texture quite a bit.
While it is expensive, I would consider re-purchasing because I love having it as a part of my routine.

DEFINICILS MASCARA
Lancome is famous for their mascara so I was not surprised to see Definicils in this beauty box featuring the best Lancome products.
Definicils is iconic (it has been the #1 mascara for 16+ years!) and I have actually not tried this particular formula yet so I was excited to add it to my kit.
UPDATE
I’ve really enjoyed having Definicils in my kit for the past few months and have also re-purchased this product.
I use it mostly for commercial work where I need a defined but natural look. The mascara separates lashes while lengthening and it does not clump. Because the wand is slim with long bristles, I’m also a fan of using it on the lower lash line to define without adding a ton of volume.
For personal use, I prefer thicker, more voluminous lashes and this is not that product (click for a review of my holy grail drugstore mascara). However, if you’re looking for a natural look that provides length and definition Definicils is the perfect mascara.

LA VIE EST BELLE PERFUME
La Vie Est Belle Perfume is soft, feminine and warm and I love the simple, chic bottle design.
The key notes are iris, vanilla and praline and it also contains notes of patchouli and a gourmand blend. It’s a sultry, sexy scent and a little goes a long way.
Fragrances preferences are so individual and I happen to be super picky about the perfumes I wear. This one didn’t mix well with my body chemistry so I gifted it to a friend who loved it.
A lot of people liken La Vie Est Belle to the popular Flowerbomb by Viktor and Rolf, so if you’re a fan of that, this is definitely one to check out next time you’re at the Lancome counter.
