If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile, you know that I’m a huge fan of The Makeup Show LA. I’ve been attending since the very first time they debuted in LA and I love watching it expand each year. Unlike a few other makeup trade shows in the area, I feel like this one really tries their best to cater to actual artists as well as support artist brands.
If you went to The Makeup Show LA today, you probably saw keynote speakers such as Scott Barnes, Charlie Green and an amazing panel of union artists, Christina Smith, Susan Cabral-Ebert, Eugenia Weston and Melanie Levitt. If you’re attending tomorrow, make sure to check out celebrity artists, Kathy Jeung and Jamie Greenberg as well as panels with artists such as Nick Lujan, Lori Taylor and Melanie Mills, Donald Simrock, and Taylor Babaian, who will be discussing topics about diversity, the industry, and innovation in artistry.
If discounts are at the top of your list, Kevyn Aucoin and Youngblood are offering up to 50% off their lines, OCC has lip tars in the older packaging for only $4 and Urban Decay has joined The Makeup Show exhibitor roster for the first time, offering their 40% pro discount. The other booths are offering their regular pro discounts, as well as specific show specials.
One of the most special parts of The Makeup Show LA is the fact that the people working in the booths are the owners themselves, the brand’s PR reps, and basically people you want to meet. It’s a great networking opportunity and a good way to get to know the people behind the lines.
The Makeup Show LA is happening Saturday March 19th and Sunday March 20th, 2016 at the California Market Center in Downtown LA
