I never feel like I can completely remove all of my makeup by simply washing my face, which is why I rely heavily on toners. For the past few weeks, I’ve been testing out Phytomer’s Rose Visage Toning Cleansing Lotion and I really like what it has to offer. First of all, it smells like roses and I love the smell of roses. Many times rose scented products can be a bit overpowering (ahem.. Jurlique’s Advanced Night Serum..) but Phytomer’s Rose Visage toner has the most subtle, floral smell which disappears almost immediately once it hits your skin. It does not contain alcohol, so it’s extremely gentle on your skin and does not dry you out at all. In fact, it makes my skin feel very soft and somewhat hydrated, with no greasy film or stickiness left behind.
Phytomer’s Rose Visage Toning Cleansing Lotion does a wonderful job at removing any makeup residue that’s left on my skin after washing. I found myself only having to go over my face one time with a cotton ball in order to completely take everything off. This toner is also labeled as a cleansing lotion so I did attempt to use it to remove my makeup. I ended up needing several cotton balls, and I had to rub my eyes a quite a few times to completely remove all of my mascara. It definitely took off all of my makeup, but it was not the most time efficient process. Then again, I wear a full face of makeup every day, so there was a lot to take off. For women who wear less or no makeup, it would be a lot less of a chore to use this toner to cleanse your face.
I have a love hate relationship with the packing of Phytomer’s Rose Visage Toner. On one hand, the bottle is pretty, and it looks fantastic on my vanity. It’s tall and thin, and the soft pink hue of the toner is very feminine. On the other hand, it’s kind of annoying to have to unscrew the cap every time I go to use it. It’s also not the easiest bottle to pack, and I travel a lot. I really do like this toner a lot, and plan to use up the rest of the bottle, but I’m going to transfer it to a spray bottle for an easier/quicker application.
-Smells wonderful but the scent doesn’t linger
-Leaves skin soft and hydrated
-Alcohol free and extremely gentle
